Preferred Disciplinary Action: Ban (1y)

Reasoning: A one year ban to allow for Mickey to mature and/or change as an individual feels right.

Additional Notes: N/A

Preferred Disciplinary Action: Ban (1y) with appeal

Reasoning: Super scummy move but not as extreme

Additional Notes: Asking to do GLE removal if possible

Preferred Disciplinary Action: Ban (1y)

Reasoning: Hopefully he finds a chance to improve himself.

Additional Notes: Requesting additional GLE removal and full ban from rewrite permissions. Doesn't deserve either things after all this.

does this mean removing perms he already has e.g. liquid pain, or removing them retroactively?

to be fair, i wouldn't mind removing them either way because he'll be banned for a while.

Preferred Disciplinary Action: Ban (6m), GLE removal

Reasoning: Blatantly wrong and in some cases malicious.

Additional Notes: Could Mickey earn GLE back with three more could pages or would the revocation be permanent?

That’s a good question and it might be a good idea to bring up to crit team after this is cleaned up.

Preferred Disciplinary Action: 6mo ban w appeal, one year article posting block, GLE removal until further notice.

Reason: While unorthodox and the first time a punishment like this would be used, I think it fits the crime better than just the usual ban. Try to skirt the system to abuse the privilege of writing on this site, lose the privilege.

Additional notes: Even if we don’t do this punishment for Mickey, the article writing ban is something we should consider for the future in other cases.

Noting I also agree with “unorthodox” writing limitations for cases in relation to writing, will probably bring some of the proposals up here in some sort of joint Crit Team/Disc Team discussion.

Preferred Disciplinary Action: Ban (6m)

Reasoning:

1. mickey has definitely abused staff channels to get what he wanted
2. mickey's had ulterior motives with trying to get people banned, even: like generic3 (though it was a good thing he was banned)

BUT:

1. mickey has seen improvement in behaviour after a far shorter fandom wiki ban, so i don't believe a 1y is necessary
2. that chill-general message is, like, probably not meant to be taken seriously. could be, but i don't think it can be used as evidence.

Re: point one, if he had shown improvement he wouldn’t be actively doing this stuff here, would he? Having a more severe ban for what appears to be an active, continuing behavior pattern is what would be best for the site.

Re: point two, there is no indication in that message that it’s to be taken as a joke. In fact, the phrasing is more reminiscent of an edgelord bragging about their “god complex” than anything else… there’s no solid reason to believe it’s a joke or anything aside from Mickey trying to look cool by bragging about actively toxic behaviors to LA.

he was not banned for the same thing. on fandom he was banned for being rash and mean in discussion forums, not anything related to his discipline here. my point is that this behaviour too will probably improve.

there is no indication in that message that it’s to be taken as a joke.

i'm friends with mickey. he likes to make jokes about that sort of thing :P. i'm not saying that the message leads me to believe it's a joke but that it doesn't really conclusively prove anything

i didn't write that well enough. what i meant is that calling it "Mickey's admittance to active manipulation:" is almost laughable. it's not really proof of much.

Re: DISCIPLINARY VOTE: Mickey-T#8385

There is literally zero indication in any way, shape or form that that message is a joke. As I mentioned it just reads like Mickey being an edgelord, which several individuals have noted from him generally. Additionally, even if it is a joke, joking about being a manipulator is a) unfunny and b) really fucking weird of him to do. It doesn’t make it better if it’s a joke either way.

Re: DISCIPLINARY VOTE: Mickey-T#8385

scutoid studios 15 May 2023 19:31

i would argue that it makes it a whole lot better. a person who jokes in #chill-general about being a manipulator is bad but i wouldn't say it's, like, as punishable as being a manipulator — to conflate those two offenses is ridonculous.

and anyway, i'm just saying that i'm friends with mickey and thus kind of get that this is him trying to be funny. so, to me, even though it's weird and i'm not a fan, i don't think it's really fair to put in the disc vote as evidence he's publicly admitting to being a manipulator like it's some court statement.

I think it might be a good idea to consider that as a friend of Mickey's and defending him based on the fact that you just "know him better" is a direct indication of blatant bias

Re: DISCIPLINARY VOTE: Mickey-T#8385

scutoid studios 16 May 2023 23:53

it is not, and i don't appreciate being accused of that.

it's not like i don't want him banned.

i'm just trying to get you to see where i'm coming from, because to me it's obvious that saying that what he posted in #chill-general is not him seriously confessing to something abhorrent. it's sort of ridiculous that we're treating that as an admission of guilt.

Preferred Disciplinary Action: Ban (6 months) permanent GLE ban

Reasoning: Manipulation of the crit system and staff. Providing GLE again risks them reoffending.

Preferred Disciplinary Action: 6 month ban, followed by a yearlong revocation of membership from the wiki and a permanent revocation of GLE.

Reasoning: Conscious abuse of the critique system, rewrite application system, and staff is my justification for all the punishments. While the punishment is unorthodox, we've never had something of this extent happen before so unorthodox behavior requires unorthodox punishments.

what is the difference between a ban and a revocation of membership from the wiki? i'm not sure we should be making discord bans seperate from wiki bans: and if one was longer here i'd far prefer it to be the discord ban as that's where all these things took place.

i'd be able to get behind revocation of posting priveleges though. like, let him be a member and vote / participate in discussions, just don't let him be an author.

revocation of GLE i think is good but i'm not sure it should be permanent? maybe permanent revocation of rewrite perms, but idk about greenlight exemptions entirely forever and ever and ever amen. but i guess it's fine if he can appeal it later down the line.

Given that he used (or tried to use) GLE as a way to do most of the shit he did here I feel like it shouldn’t be an option until he has very clearly changed as an individual.
